TIME’S UP! Biggest yarn giveaway… ever!

Time is up! We'll be liveblogging the winners today (Wednesday) around 12:00 noon EST.

Have you seen our Spring Lookbook yet? (Even if you do nothing but flip through and think, "Cool," that will make me happy.)

We are giving away every skein of yarn pictured in the Spring Lookbook. Every single skein. All twenty of them.

This one:

And this one:

lookbook155-1.jpg

And this one:

lookbook92-1.jpg

And all seventeen more. We're not giving away the other stuff in the pictures, just the yarn.

There is no catch. You don't have to buy anything, you don't even have to pay for shipping. All you have to do is enter.

Contest rules: One entry per person. Our blog logs IP addresses, so we can check. Please enter only one time. You cannot be an employee of Three Irish Girls or be related to an employee of Three Irish Girls. (Got that, honey?) Your entry must be received by 4:30 am Eastern time on Wednesday, March 25th. Entries sent after that time will not be included in the contest.

Here's how it works: Reply to this post, answering the question below. You must actually reply to this post, do not email in your answer. (Click on the Read User's Comments link, and scroll down. It will take you to a box where you can reply.) After all the entries have been received, the number of entrants will be divided into 20 groups. One winner will be selected from each of the 20 groups. This is to improve your chances of winning. For example, if there are 100 responses, I will divide everyone into 20 groups. Each group will have five people.

Are you with me? 100 divided by 20= 5. I will then choose one winner from each of the 20 groups. In the scenario I've given, your odds of winning will change from one in 100 to one in five. Or something like that. I'm not a statistician. Just try to trust me, I'm looking out for you here. There will also be one grand prize given away, a winner randomly chosen from among everyone. The grand prize is a $150 gift certificate to be used on anything you like in our store.

TIME IS UP! WINNER'S WILL BE ANNOUNCED AROUND 12:00 EST TODAY (WEDNESDAY). BE SURE AND CHECK BACK, and thank you, everyone. :)GOOD LUCK, AND MAY THE (KNITTING) FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Oh, man, what tough choices! They're all so gawjus.... If I had to choose, right this minute, I would get Devin and Erin, for a lovely spring vest. I'm a crocheter, and have several patterns for lightweight vests.... *sigh* So many projects spring to mind, it's hard to choose! Beautiful stuff, and thanks for the giveaway! I'm sure whoever gets your yarns will count themselves lucky as three Irish girls! :)

So hard to choose! I have to pick Jack. Jack looks like it would make a perfect hat for myself. I love the blend of colors.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKathy

Kieran, definitely. Fingerless mitts, I think, so I could see the yarn while typing.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered Commenternaomi

Cian for sure but do I have to do anything with it? Can't I just fondle it and drool over that bright color during our dreary winters?

Well if I must make something it would be a pair of cushions for the living room and a beautiful felted tea cozy.

Of course Clare would make a lovely baby set for my newest grand Isabella Rose...

I love Kate, Connor and Maeve for socks, and Alana for maybe a scarf, shawl or cowl.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterChrissy Jacobs

Kieran: DS/DD sweater
Kate: Me a sweater

And so many other possibilities

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterRenee Reed

Oh my, so many to pick from Erin, Devin, Kate, Connor, Clare.....but then I saw Jack!

They're all beautiful, but when I look at Jack, I see lots of things to make. Socks, a new hat for me, shorties for my little guy to wear this summer (who, by the way would have been named Jack if we didn't already have a cat with that name!)

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNicole

Devin would definitely need to come to my house. I'd make a hat for my babe with it.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJessica

Picking just one is nearly impossible, so I'll pick the first one on my list. Maeve. would make pretty socks, but I'd rather make something that every one would see. A hat or neck something.
Everything is just beautiful!!

I'm Sugar Momma on Raverly.

All of them are so pretty, I guess I'd like to have Devan to knit into a cowl ?

thanks!

MAURA!
Looks like autumn, like November, like....ready for winter. Something cozy in front of the fireplace after a walk through sleeping forests.
I would make a huge shawl, almost a blanket, triangular or maybe rather round. Warm and big, but still lacy!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKatja

I am torn between Cian and Fionn - maybe a striped sweater?

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterElizabeth

MAURA, would be like a breath of fresh spring air after a long Wisconsin winter. I would make a February Lady Sweater from it and enjoy every stitch of it. Lovely yarn all of it was, such talent to create those colors!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterShirley

Maura! Incredible! I'd make a scrumptious cardigan!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterLiz

Wow! I've never had the pleasure of using your yarns. Of course, I am a newer knitter, and I really am trying new yarns just as fast as I can! Lol!

I love the Spring Lookbook colors. Honestly, choosing one is a hard decision! (Jack, Jan, Maeve, Grady. . . Or maybe Alana, because I haven't knit with pink —ever, and it's amazingr!)

However! I've fallen in love with the Faery Ring Cardigan by Mary Scott Huff (http://www.maryscotthuff.com) and think that Maura would be gorgeous when knit up into that pattern. She's a lovely colourway and would go with so many things in my wardrobe.

Kieran is my first choice. I've been looking for the perfect yarn to make a warm hat or socks for a dear friend. His favorite color is orange, but not just any orange will do. It's taken so long to find just the right colorway. :) (Does it help that his name is Ciarnan - not exact, but close!)

I'm enamoured with Alana and Grady and Maeve and Kate and... well... all of the really, but Kieran is the one that demands to be knit up for my friend. :)

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSue

Oh my goodness, what a totally sweet giveaway. It's very very hard to pick favorites, but I am in love with Jack and Clare!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterheyjenrenee

Picking just one was hard! If I absolutely had to narrow it down I think I'd choose Maeve. That colorway would make a perfect pair of socks, or perhaps a tunic for my daughter. The possibilities are endless! :D

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJennifer

I would have to say... hmmm... Niall. I think I'm just a sucker for the darker tones and I would probably make myself some socks. I just love having funky socks and these would be right up there on the funky scale!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKim

I am having SUCH a hard time picking just one colorway. They're just all so beautiful. I do prefer nearly-solids, so at least that narrows it down a bit. It's a tossup between Kieran and Devin. I'd have to flip a coin to choose!

I'd make a sweater with it for my new baby daughter.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDove

I love Clare for many reasons. First, it's gorgeous. Second, the name is fantastic. Clare comes from the word Cláirseach which is Gaelic for harp and since I'm a harpist, well, the name just struck a chord with me.

Pun intended.

What would I make? Probably a pair of opera-length lace gloves. Yeah.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKelly W.

I adore that Maeve colorway and think that it would make a fantastic hat and scarf--possibly from the SMSS "Textures" pattern.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterRachel Copenhaver

I would knit myself a whole cardigan with Erin... A pretty one, with a little lace motif at the bottom and nice small buttons. Then I would have to hide it from my mother, who would love those colours too. :)

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterfilambulle

I love Madigan. She speaks to me. Her name is similar to my daughter's, Madison. Love, love, love the new dyeing technique and want to see it knit up so badly. I'd make a warm and snuggly pair of mittens, for my Madison.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMichelle

I love them all, but I would choose Devin to knit a lacy wrap for my cousin who has green eyes and strawberry blonde hair, for her to wear at the museum where she does re-enactments of scenes from the thirties. It's very drafty where she works.

I would choose Niall for aunt and knit her a wrap as well, she's a librarian and sits at the desk quite a bit, so she could use something for her shoulders. Her eyes are that Irish blue-violet, the color of the sky after a storm... Niall would reflect the colors in her eyes perfectly.

I would love any of them. I knit for others, almost never for me, but Grady might change my mind...
