TIME’S UP! Biggest yarn giveaway… ever!

Time is up! We'll be liveblogging the winners today (Wednesday) around 12:00 noon EST.

Have you seen our Spring Lookbook yet? (Even if you do nothing but flip through and think, "Cool," that will make me happy.)

We are giving away every skein of yarn pictured in the Spring Lookbook. Every single skein. All twenty of them.

This one:

And this one:

lookbook155-1.jpg

And this one:

lookbook92-1.jpg

And all seventeen more. We're not giving away the other stuff in the pictures, just the yarn.

There is no catch. You don't have to buy anything, you don't even have to pay for shipping. All you have to do is enter.

Contest rules: One entry per person. Our blog logs IP addresses, so we can check. Please enter only one time. You cannot be an employee of Three Irish Girls or be related to an employee of Three Irish Girls. (Got that, honey?) Your entry must be received by 4:30 am Eastern time on Wednesday, March 25th. Entries sent after that time will not be included in the contest.

Here's how it works: Reply to this post, answering the question below. You must actually reply to this post, do not email in your answer. (Click on the Read User's Comments link, and scroll down. It will take you to a box where you can reply.) After all the entries have been received, the number of entrants will be divided into 20 groups. One winner will be selected from each of the 20 groups. This is to improve your chances of winning. For example, if there are 100 responses, I will divide everyone into 20 groups. Each group will have five people.

Are you with me? 100 divided by 20= 5. I will then choose one winner from each of the 20 groups. In the scenario I've given, your odds of winning will change from one in 100 to one in five. Or something like that. I'm not a statistician. Just try to trust me, I'm looking out for you here. There will also be one grand prize given away, a winner randomly chosen from among everyone. The grand prize is a $150 gift certificate to be used on anything you like in our store.

TIME IS UP! WINNER'S WILL BE ANNOUNCED AROUND 12:00 EST TODAY (WEDNESDAY). BE SURE AND CHECK BACK, and thank you, everyone. :)GOOD LUCK, AND MAY THE (KNITTING) FORCE BE WITH YOU!

You want me to pick ONE?!?!?? Probably Connor. Or Maeve. I'm not what I would make . . . . . I'd probably just sit and pet it for a while! :)

I'm attracted most to "Alana." I make a good number of wool baby clothes as I live in Alaska, and "Alana" is subtle enough for both little boys and little girls.

I'm too late for the giveaway, but I have to let you know how gobsmacked I am by 'Jack' and 'Grady'. ::covets::

I can't choose just one! They are all so beautiful, but I really love Niall, Clare, Maura, Kieran and Erin.

I think I would make the February Lady Sweater. It would look amazing in any of these colors.

My son's name is Kieran and his favourite colour is orange!

So the choice is easy for me... Kieran and I would knit something for my boy,,, as I haven't yet... a hat might be just the thing.

Thank you for offering such a wonderful giveaway.

I absolutly love KATE - it would be so perfect for a spring sweater for my daughter! (or maybe matching mommy/daughter cardigans....)

I sure wish you could edit comments.

Once I had my Maeve yarn, in all its queeny glory, of course, I would probably make socks. In a perfect knitting world, I would make a sweater that floated about me, soft as a cloud, fit perfectly without altering the pattern, and made me look like I weighed much less than I do.

I am drooling over all of them - they're so pretty! But my favourites have to be Jack & Maura! I would knit a funky sweater out of Maura and a cozy shawl out of Jack! Thanks for the fun contest!

Oohh, so hard to choose! Most any of them (I'd look sick in Cian). But I think Alana would make a beautiful scarf or shawl to cozy up in. The colors are feminine and toasty!

I love Kate!

I would probably make some pretty gloves or a scarf. Or so many other things!!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterElizabeth

What an impossible choice! - But if I must choose - it would be Maura - a nice cozy shawl - or socks, or a cardigan - no, a shawl!

Oh man, how to pick one????

I think I'm in love with Niall. It screams a sweater to made of it.

Yummy yarns.....

Love the colours. Have chosen Kieran.

I would use to make squares for knit-a-square.com

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterCarol

I would make a short-sleeve sweater with Cian because it screams Spring.

::looks at date:: Oh, not too late! In that case, what I'd make from them? 'Jack' would be a pair of fingerless mitts for my son (also named Jack!) Green is his very favorite color. :)

'Grady' would be for me (mine, all mine!). I think I'd make either a purse or (depending on the weight) a pair of gorgeous socks with coffee bean-shaped cables down the sides.

It's sooo hard to choose just one, they are ALL so magically delicious!

Cameron and Devin are wonderful, but I can't stop looking at Kieran. What a nice shawl that would make-- a reminder that warmer, brighter days are ahead!

Wow, it was hard to pick. I'll go with the Niall. I just bought a recent pattern for a cute bolero that I think would work for that.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKPP

I would love to knit a vest or tank top with Maeve. Something light and airy that goes with everything to wear all summer long.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKate W.

wow, loove so many of the new colors, but if i had to pick just one I would pick Maura and knit a beautiful shawl with it, the colors remind me of warm summer nights and a lovely shawl would be a perfect fit in my mind....

thanks!

First of all, I would like to take ALL of them home with me! However, I think I narrowed it to a top 4 (couldn't choose just one!):
-Cian to make a bright happy shrug
-Alana to make a February Lady Sweater
-Maura for a shawl
-Maeve for socks

These are in no particular order because I love them all equally.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMelinda

All the colors are so beautiful that I had a hard time choosing just one favorite. I finally settled on Devin. I think the colors in Devin are completely sumptuous! I would knit 'Baby Cables and Big Ones Too' by Suvi S. or I would knit a shawl.

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterLauren

Maybe a sweater in Devin or Kieran. Although a scarf? or a light shawl would also be beautiful in those colours!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterjen

oh I love them all..I like Erin the best and I would make a beautiful shawl or maybe a cowl...

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKay

Ooh, so many choices. I love Maguire or Niall for a sweater -- a nice cardigan or pullover. I also love Erin for socks. And really, any of them would make a great shawl.

The yarns and the photos are yummy!

March 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPrettyCranium

I love them all! But my favorite is Erin-it reminds me of Spring-which I am eagerly looking forward to !! It will be a hard choice of what to make from it, as it would be perfect for a shawl, socks or a cardigan.
