In my spare time

In my spare time, I like to:

1. Frolic in fields of clover.

2. Arrange flowers.

3. Siesta in a hammock.

4. Take pictures.

5. Whip up a little chocolate something or another.

6. Scratch horsedog bellies.

7. Forage for fiddleheads.

8. Try not to buy too many place settings of china. Who am I kidding?

9. Field questions about Minnesota from non-Minnesotans. To save time, the answers are:

a. No, I don't travel by dogsled

b. Yes, the snow does melt eventually

c. No, I don't wish I lived in Mexico, California, Texas, or Arizona, although they are nice places to visit

d. We eat a lot of cookies

10. Did I say take pictures already? I need an assistant to keep track of these things.

11. Compile lists.

12. Take quizzes that shatter my self image.

13. Tell the truth.

14. Play with puppies. Which is fortuitous, because Rosie Horsedog is having some. Maybe I should start working on a bed for her and the puppies lined with wool. In my spare time, of course.

What sorts of things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spare time? What is this concept you speak of?

Mmm, have you ever eaten fiddleheads? They taste like spring.

And congrats on being a horse-dog grandma. :)

They do, you're right, Rhiannon!

What am I going to do with a million Labradors in my house?

I love answering questions about when I lived in Minnesota and what happens when I go back to visit!! Especially in the winter! People just think you hunker down and hibernate.......when in fact while living in Duluth I would WALK to St. Lukes everyday where I worked no matter what the temp outside :) WHEEEE

As a Labrador lover myself (I have a big yellow male - Sam, who I got at 7 weeks and a chocolate female - Chloe, who was a rescue), I must extend my congratulations on your impending new additions! Puppies are so much fun. Mischievous Labrador puppies are THE BEST. Enjoy!

In my spare time I like to be with my husband and daughters and play with my grandchildren. I also like to read unforgettable books, play Sudoku now that I've finally learned I can do it, dream about traveling but not actually get on a plane, watch birds on our back deck, laugh with friends, knit the simple scarves of a beginner, watch occasional BBC series, eschew paperwork, not cook, and read my daughter's blog,

I like to stay in my PJs until late in the afternoon, knitting and watching multiple episodes of "geek shows" like Buffy and Angel, West Wing, Gilmore Girls and Doctor Who, while drinking coffee and eating candy from whatever holiday has just past. I ESPECIALLY like to do this when it is snowing and I KNOW I shouldn't be doing something else.

Congratulations on the new additions! I just love puppies! In your extra spare time, I think you start knitting them all little puppy sweaters! My favorite things to do in my spare time, is to wear my PJ's all day, watch junk of television, eat ice cream for breakfast, and surf. I like to knit in there somewhere, but only on mindless projects when I am having a veg day.

I love to knit in my spare time. And now that I'm retiring, today is my last day with my very sweet middle schoolers, I will have more time to knit. Whom I kidding, there are 25 years worth of cleaning, real cleaning, to be done. But now I won't have to feel guilty about not getting those papers graded right away because I just had to finish the socks I started.
Puppies, how fun is that. My heart wants a dog, but the brain says no way you fool.
Smiles,

I'd like to think that you have spare time, though I can't imagine where you find it!

In my spare time, I like to read and knit (though not at the same time).

Playing with puppies sounds wonderful. Our younger "puppy" is 5 and our older one is almost 14 (and about as needy as a puppy, but a happy camper, nonetheless).

P.S. When you're blessed with millions of puppies, you'll be laughing a lot and cleaning up a lot (and teaching biology).

I love to spend time with my family and my kitty children. I love to knit and play (work) in the garden (yummy veg!).

I love the questions from non-cold weather people. I am from the east coast of Canada and have heard all the questions before. And fiddle heads...one of the blessings of spring!!

Your photos and flowers are amazing!! I can't believe all the talent that comes from one person! You're awesome!!

Thanks for the yarn!

Congratulations, Grandma! (Grandmother, Gram, Noni, Nana...?) Little anythings are fun and lots of work. LOL Have a grand time. We will need pictures, of course. Good thing you like to take them.

Oh I love spare time, those rare moments...
I like to - bake - preferably something with lemon or apples.
I like to - procrastinate on Ravelry...the things I am going to knit...
I like to - read blogs
I love to - read books with fat dachshunds on my feet.
I love to - knit - it makes me feel connected to my mumma.
